The 3rd Vice President of PAP, Hon. Bouras DJAMEL is currently on rotation to oversee the work of the Secretariat.

On Friday 17 January, the Vice-President had some audience with the PAP senior management to address key issues pertaining to the Administrative and Human Resource matters, the Report of the Pan-African Parliament to the African Union Summit that will be preceded by the PRC meeting from 20 to 22 January 2020 as well as the Sitting of the Permanent Committees of the PAP scheduled for 27 February to 7 March 2020.

The Vice-President has undertaken to ensure that the workplan discussed and approved in October 2019 is respected by different units and implemented to the best of the Secretariat’s ability for a productive year 2020.

“We must all endeavor to work hand in hand with the African Union (AU) in the interest of the African continent. PAP should now be able to assist in any way possible, different African countries that need help, starting with efforts to ensure effective respect for women and children’s rights on our continent,” said Hon. Djamel.

The Vice-President who is currently in charge of Administration and Human Resources alluded to the enormous task of the filling of vacant positions that were advertised in the fall of the year 2019, saying quick completion of the recruitment process is critical and will support the implementation of the 2020 institutional workplan.

As a legislative Organ of the African Union, Pan-African Parliament will also align its workplan with the 2020 theme; ‘Silencing the guns: creating conducive conditions for Africa’s development.’
